Customer Success Engineer

Location:

Hybrid

FTE:

Full time

Summary:

We are looking for an energetic Customer Success Engineer who knows our products inside out, lives in the field with our customers, and turns every operation into smarter software.

Customer Success Engineer

We are looking for a Customer Success Engineer to join AirHub and become the bridge between our customers and our products. You will be the person who goes out into the field, runs real operations alongside our customers, onboards new teams, picks up the phone when something does not work, and brings every learning back to make our software better.

This is a hands-on role for someone who already lives and breathes drone operations. One week you might be onboarding a new critical infrastructure operator in the Netherlands, the next you might be testing a new feature with a police unit abroad, and the week after that you might be deep in our help center documenting a workflow you just improved. You will be flying drones, running missions, asking customers tough questions, and making sure they get the most out of our platform.

If you love technology, love being out in the real world, and get energy from helping people get their jobs done, this is your role.

Our mission

Do you want to use your hands-on energy to support people who save lives and protect what matters? At AirHub, you actually can.

First responders save lives every day, and operators of critical infrastructure protect the systems our society depends on. They often lack the right technology to do it as effectively as possible. When someone goes missing at sea, when wildfires spread rapidly, or when emergencies unfold, every second counts. At AirHub, we believe that cutting-edge drone and security technology can be the difference between life and death.

We are a Dutch software company on a mission to empower first responders, public safety organisations, critical infrastructure operators, and defence-adjacent customers with advanced unmanned systems and security solutions. Our AirHub Drone Operations Center enables seamless mission planning, real-time flight control, live video streaming, and AI-powered object detection, all while ensuring full aviation compliance. Alongside it, we are building our next generation of products - SecHub for sensor fusion and counter-UAS, and MilHub for sovereign defence mission support.

If you are passionate about making sure that technology actually works in the hands of the people who need it, AirHub is the place for you.

Our team

AirHub currently has 35+ employees (and growing) across product, development, sales, marketing and operations. It is a remote-first scale-up environment with a flat structure, short lines, and a team that genuinely cares about what it builds. We take our work seriously, and yes, we do team outings with advanced drones and sensor technology.

You will join our Customer Success team and report directly to the Head of Customer Success. You will work closely with product, development, and sales colleagues, and you will be the trusted voice of the customer inside the company.

What you will do

  • Become a deep expert on the AirHub product family - Drone Operations Center, Ground Control apps, DJI Dock integrations, and everything around them. Over time, grow into our newer products SecHub and MilHub as they mature.

  • Test our products in real operational environments, in the Netherlands and abroad, both on your own and alongside customers.

  • Onboard new customers: from kick-off and configuration to training their teams and getting them flying confidently.

  • Provide first-line support to our customers when something does not work, is not clear, or could be done better. Be the person they trust to get them back in the air.

  • Travel with customers to their sites, fly along on their operations, and observe how they actually use our software in practice.

  • Hunt down bugs, edge cases, and unclear workflows, and turn them into clear, actionable feedback for our product and engineering teams.

  • Capture customer feedback and turn it into improvement proposals, helpcenter articles, internal best practices, and product input.

  • Help shape onboarding playbooks and support processes as we scale.

  • Systematically find edge-cases and pre-empt issues for customers with new features.

What we are looking for

  • Based in the Hague or the surrounding area.

  • A valid drone pilot licence (minimum A1/A3 + A2, ideally also Specific Category) and proven hands-on flying experience. This is a hard requirement.

  • Solid familiarity with DJI drones and the DJI ecosystem - Mavic, Matrice, and ideally the DJI Dock - and a good understanding of how drone operations are run in practice.

  • Fluency in both Dutch and English, written and spoken. Additional languages such as German, Portuguese or Spanish are a strong plus given our international customer base.

  • Energetic, curious, and genuinely interested in technology, drones, and how things work.

  • Comfortable being out in the field, on customer sites, and travelling internationally several times per year.

  • A natural problem solver: when something does not work, your instinct is to figure out why and fix it.

  • Customer-first mindset, with the patience and clarity to explain technical things to non-technical users.

  • Experience in customer success, technical support, field engineering, application engineering, or a comparable hands-on technical role is preferred.

  • Affinity with public safety, security, critical infrastructure, or defence is a plus - and welcome if you want to grow into our SecHub and MilHub product lines over time.

What will make you successful in this role

  • You enjoy the mix of office, field, and customer site, and you do not want a desk job.

  • You are structured: you can manage onboardings, support tickets, and field trips without losing the thread.

  • You take ownership. When a customer has an issue, you do not stop until it is resolved or properly handed off.

  • You are observant and detail-oriented in the field. You spot the small things that confuse users or break workflows, and you write them down.

  • You bring energy into the room. Customers feel supported, your colleagues feel informed, and the product team gets sharp, useful feedback.

  • You see yourself not as a ticket-handler but as the person making sure our software actually works for the people using it.

  • Flexible support mindset. Our customers rely on AirHub during critical operations. When they need support - whether during regular hours or in urgent situations - you are willing to step in and help them succeed.

What you will love about this role

  • Real stories to be part of: our customers use AirHub to respond to emergencies, protect borders, and manage critical infrastructure across Europe and beyond.

  • A varied role that frequently takes you from the office to operational field environments to international customer sites.

  • The chance to grow with our product family - starting with AirHub and expanding into SecHub and MilHub as they scale.

  • Direct influence on the product. The bugs you find, the workflows you flag, and the ideas you bring back genuinely shape the roadmap.

  • Flat, informal culture with short lines and direct feedback.

  • 25 vacation days.

  • Hybrid working with our bases in The Hague and Groningen.

  • Plenty of chances to fly drones yourself.
