Flight Timer

1.1 Ground Control - Overview

The AirHub – Flight Timer mode is designed for organizations that operate drones that are not directly supported by AirHub – Cockpit mode, but still require accurate flight logging and compliance tracking.

This mode enables pilots to automatically document operational data, even when using third-party flight applications or external control systems.

1.2 Why Use Flight Timer

With AirHub – Flight Timer, you can:

  • Fly using third-party apps such as DJI Pilot, Autel Explorer, or Parrot FreeFlight, while AirHub automatically tracks your flight duration in the background.

  • Maintain compliance with operational and legal requirements by ensuring every flight is logged, even without telemetry integration.

  • Use a second device for tracking if your primary device is occupied (for example, when using a controller and a tablet simultaneously).

This flexibility makes Flight Timer an ideal backup mode for organizations operating mixed fleets or non-standard drone systems.

1.3 Executing a Mission Using AirHub – Flight Timer

Follow these steps to record your flight using Flight Timer mode:

  1. Open the AirHub Ground Control app.

  2. Create a new mission by pressing Fly Here.

  3. Add your assets by pressing Add Equipment and selecting the relevant drones, batteries, and equipment from your list.

  4. Once your mission setup is complete, press Start Flight.

  5. When prompted to select a flight mode, choose AirHub – Flight Timer.

The app will now switch to Flight Timer mode. The timer starts automatically once your flight begins, tracking total airborne time accurately in the background.

1.4 Logging Your Flight

When your flight is complete:

  1. Press the Log Flight button to stop the timer.

  2. Your total flight duration and associated assets will be automatically recorded in your AirHub Logbook.

You can later review this data in your Missions or Flight Logs overview, where it will appear with all relevant compliance information, timestamps, and asset usage details.
