Mission Templates

1.1 Using Mission Templates

Before you start:

Mission templates allow you to prepare predefined mission setups that can be quickly reused and adjusted on-site. This saves time in the field and ensures consistent mission planning across your organization.

Templates are especially useful for:

  • Routine or repetitive operations in the same area.

  • Standardized flight procedures across teams.

  • Rapid mission setup when time or network access is limited.

Before creating or using templates, ensure that you have:

  • Access to the AirHub Ground Control App.

  • A clear understanding of your operation’s standard mission parameters (e.g., location type, equipment, flight zones).

1.2 Creating and Using Mission Templates

  1. Access the Templates section

    • Navigate to the Mission Planning section in the AirHub Ground Control App.

    • Open or create a new mission that you want to use as a starting point for future operations.

  2. Define mission parameters

    • Configure all relevant mission details, such as:

      • Operation area or flight zone.

      • Equipment, drones, and batteries.

      • Team members and assigned roles.

      • Mission description or notes.

    • You can include as much or as little detail as needed, this template will serve as your reusable blueprint.

  3. Save as a template

    • Once your mission is configured, select Save as Template from the mission options.

    • Give your template a clear and recognizable name (e.g., Routine Roof Inspection, Weekly Perimeter Scan).

    • Your template will now appear in your Templates overview for quick access.

  4. Use a template for a new mission

    • When planning a new operation, go to the Templates section and select the relevant template.

    • The system will automatically load all preconfigured mission details.

    • You can then customize the mission on-site by adjusting flight zones, team members, or equipment before execution.

  5. Reusing and updating templates

    • Templates can be reused indefinitely and updated whenever procedures or requirements change.

    • If you modify a template during planning, you can either:

      • Save changes to update the existing template.

      • Save as new template to create a new variation.

1.3 Benefits of Using Templates

Using mission templates offers several operational advantages:

  • Speed: Rapidly plan missions on-site without starting from scratch.

  • Consistency: Ensure all operations follow the same structure and safety parameters.

  • Scalability: Standardize workflows across multiple teams or regions.

  • Flexibility: Customize predefined templates for specific missions without losing the original setup.

By working with templates, your team can maintain both efficiency and compliance, allowing you to focus on the operation itself rather than repetitive administrative setup.

Tip: Can't find the 'templates' tab?

For the Drone Operations Center; Press 'Create mission' from the left menu bar, and press the icon in the upper left corner, right next to your name/workspace.

For the Ground Control app; Go into the 'Missions' tab from the left menu bar, and press 'Templates' in the menu on the top of the screen.
