Assigning Assets to a Team as a Workspace Admin
1.1 Drone Operations Centre – Asset Ownership Overview
Before you start:
Only users with administrative permissions for the organizational workspace can assign or modify asset ownership.
Assigning ownership determines which teams can view and use a specific asset, such as drones, ground stations, batteries, or equipment. This ensures that assets are managed securely and only accessible to the appropriate teams.
1.2 How to Assign an Asset to a Team
Follow these steps to assign an asset to a team within your organization:
Ensure you have selected your Admin Workspace from the Workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar.
Navigate to the Assets section in the sidebar and expand it.
Click on the relevant category (Drones, Ground Stations, Batteries, or Equipment) to view a list of available assets.
Click on the name of the asset you want to manage to open its details page.
Select the Ownership tab.
Press the plus (+) button to open the team assignment dialog.
A dialog will appear with a list of all teams in your organization.
Check the box next to the team(s) you want to assign ownership to.
Click Add to confirm.
The selected team(s) will now have ownership of the asset.
1.3 Understanding Ownership
• Team Visibility and Access:
Once an asset is assigned to a team, it becomes visible and usable only within that team’s workspace.
• Organizational Control:
As an admin, you can reassign or remove ownership at any time through the same Ownership tab.
• Compliance and Record Management:
Assigning ownership ensures that flight logs, maintenance records, and usage data are correctly attributed to the responsible team.
