Configuring Automatic Media Deletion

1.1 Drone Operations Center – Automatic Media Deletion Overview

Automatic Media Deletion helps organisations manage storage efficiently by removing old media files after a set retention period. This ensures that only recent and relevant files remain available while keeping the workspace clean and optimised.

1.2 Configuring Automatic Deletion

Note: You must have administrative permissions within an organisational workspace to enable or disable this feature.

Follow these steps to enable and configure automatic media deletion:

  1. Ensure you have selected your main Admin Workspace from the Workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar.

  2. Navigate to the Manage section in the sidebar.

  3. Click on the Organisation menu item.

  4. Select the Settings tab.

  5. Click on Automatic Delete Media to open the configuration options.

  6. A form will appear. To enable the feature, toggle Automatically delete media.

  7. Set the timeframe by entering the number of days you wish to keep media files.
After this period has passed, the system will automatically delete older media.

1.3 Important Considerations

Please note the following rules when using this feature:

Grace Period for Existing Media
When the setting is first enabled or when the retention period is changed, a grace period prevents immediate deletion of existing files.
All current media will be retained for at least the full new retention period from the time of activation.
Example: If you set a 30-day retention, even files older than 30 days will only be deleted 30 days later.

Deletion Time
Once files reach the end of their retention period, the deletion process begins.
It may take up to 24 hours for files to be fully removed and for your available storage space to reflect the change.
