How to control you map style and layers

The map is the foundation of your mission plan, providing important context for safe and efficient operations. AirHub's interactive map allows you to customize your view to suit your needs. You can switch between different visual styles (like Satellite, Dark, or Light mode), overlay important data like airspace regulations and ground hazards, and even display custom map layers unique to your organization. This article explains how to control these features to get the most out of your map view.

1. Changing Map Styles and Filtering Layers

You can control the appearance of the base map and toggle data layers on or off from a single menu.

  1. In any view that contains a map (such as the Mission Editor), click the map layer button, usually located in the bottom right corner of the map.

  2. A settings panel will appear.

To Change the Map Style

At the top of the panel, you will find the different map styles. Click on a style (e.g., Satellite, Dark, Light) to instantly change the base map's appearance.

To Filter Map Layers

In the lower half of the panel, you will find a list of available data layers. You can use the toggles to turn each layer on or off, controlling what information is overlaid on the map. This includes:

  • Regulations: Official airspace restrictions, advisories, and controlled zones.

  • Ground Hazards: Known ground-level obstacles or sensitive areas.

  • Organizational Map Layers: Your organization's own custom-uploaded KML or GeoJSON files.

2. Reading Regulation and Airspace Advisories

The map also provides detailed, real-time information about airspace regulations in your operational area.

  1. Look for the advisory indicator in the top right corner of the map. This indicator provides an at-a-glance summary of the airspace status in your current view.

  2. Click on the indicator to expand a list of all active advisories (e.g., controlled airspace, NOTAMs) visible on the map.

  3. To learn more about a specific advisory, click on an item from the list.

  4. A dialog box will open, displaying detailed information about that specific flyzone or NOTAM.
