Understanding Workspaces
1.1 Overview
AirHub uses a workspace-based structure to help you organize missions, members, and assets efficiently.
There are three types of workspaces in the platform, each with a specific purpose and level of access.
1.2 The Three Types of Workspaces
Every AirHub user automatically receives a Personal Workspace when creating an account.
Purpose:
Designed for individual use. This workspace allows you to:
Maintain your personal flight logs and records.
Manage your own drones, batteries, and equipment.
Plan and execute missions that are not part of an organization.
Think of it as:
Your private workspace, like a personal account where only you have access.
The Organizational Workspace is the central hub for companies, government agencies, or other structured entities.
It is available on the Business and Enterprise subscription plans.
Purpose:
Serves as the top-level environment that contains all teams, members, assets, and missions within the organization.
Allows administrators to manage users, create teams, and control global settings.
Usage:
Admins can oversee the entire organization from one place.
Provides visibility into all team activities and performance.
Think of it as:
Your main headquarters, where every team, asset, and operation is connected.
Each Team Workspace functions as a sub-environment within an organizational workspace.
Purpose:
Used to group a specific set of members, assets, and missions for a defined purpose, such as a department, regional unit, or project group.
Usage:
Keeps data isolated between teams. Members of one team cannot access missions or assets belonging to another unless they are part of both.
Ideal for maintaining clarity and data security across multiple operational areas.
Important for Streaming:
When live streaming from a drone or ground station, always ensure you have selected the correct Team Workspace before starting the stream.
Each drone or ground station has a unique RTMP link per team, and if you stream under the wrong workspace, the feed will not appear in the intended team’s view.
To troubleshoot connection issues, see the guide: Cloud API & Streaming Troubleshooting.
Think of it as:
A department or project room inside your main headquarters.
1.3 Switching Between Workspaces
You can easily switch between workspaces using the Workspace switcher located at the top of the main sidebar.
When you select a different workspace:
The entire platform updates to reflect that workspace’s context.
You’ll only see the missions, members, and assets that belong to the workspace you’ve selected.
This ensures you’re always working within the correct operational scope, whether it’s your personal logbook, a specific team, or the entire organization.
